Fourth Americas v Europe Team Battle – 03/10

The English Chess Players team took part in the fourth Americas v Europe team battle at 9-00 pm on 03/10. This was a 90 minute Arena team battle at 3|0. Teams included England, Russia (TRChess), Italy, Spain, Argentina B, Panama, Cuba, Dominican Republic. The Russian team won the event and we came fifth in a field of 10 National teams which was a good result in a well subscribed event.

FVA IV Europas v America

England v South Africa – 27/09

We won our friendly international team battle against the South African Federation on lichess by 220-182. The match was played on Sunday Morning 27/09 from 10-30 am to midday. Results can be found here with some great individual performances against a strong South African team.

Third Americas v Europe Team Battle – 26/09

World ‘Hasta La Victoria’ Americas v Europe Team Battles. We played in the third Americas/ Europe Team Battle organised by the Venezuelan Federation and starting at 9-00 pm last Saturday. We finished 8th (one place higher than last week) in a really strong field with Russia finishing top and the European teams winning the battle overall this week. https://lichess.org/tournament/XAzWmllk

The fourth battle is scheduled for this Saturday (03/10)

Women’s Invitational – 26/09

The England Women’s club played in an International Team Battleon lichess at 18:00 on Saturday Evening 26th September finishing 5th in a field of ten teams. https://lichess.org/tournament/pYnCZAWv

Nations Cup – 23/09

We qualified in second place in the European group stage for the September Nations Cup on lichess – more details at the link here:

We then finished 10th in the final against some very strong opposition – so we have to wait another month for another try at winning back the cup which we last won in February.
