🦁 British Chess Championships 2021 – This year’s British championships start on Saturday 2nd October and will run for 2 weeks until Sunday 17th October at venues in Hull and Milton Keynes. The English Chess Players team continues to take part in various friendly internationals as well as participating in a number of regular lichess leagues / series  – these matches are open to all lichess English Chess Players club members.
🔥 Blitz Leagues
🔈 Lichess Mega Team Battles – The next lichess Mega A team battle will be at 5-00 pm on Friday 8th October  – This will be another mega battle for 2 hours at 3|0 at the link here: https://lichess.org/tournament/KCe4znVp – with 197 teams and 20 leaders.
🏆Champions League – We came eleventh again in the Champions League team battle at 6:30 pm on Tuesday 28th September here – https://lichess.org/tournament/e6n9Rxrz/  – This was the usual 120 minute team battle at 3|0 with 36 National teams mostly from Europe, Africa and South America. The next round will be at 6:30 pm on Tuesday 5th October  and we will publish the link on the lichess club home page once available.

🌍 World Nations League –  We came 2nd in the ECF run 10 Nations Team Battle at 5-00 pm on Wednesday 29th September behind Team South Africa. ECF Online Grand Prix – Entries are open for the ECF Online Blitz Grand Prix and ECF Online Rapid Grand Prix series on lichess. The events run monthly from March and are held at 2:00pm on the first Sunday of each month (for the Blitz Tournaments) and the third Sunday of each month (for the Rapid Tournaments). She Plays to Win She Plays To Win is a UK Girls Chess Project supported by the ECF and led by England Women’s Coach IM Lorin D’Costa, to try and encourage more girls to participate and learn chess in a fun environment. This involves free 30 minutes training in the weekly group, and a tournament on the Lichess server afterwards.
